Notes on the 2000 Beaufus:
Back label: Longtime friends, Greg Smith and Ted Seghesio share a passion for Pinot Noir. At their respective wineries, Optima and Seghesio, each has had the opportunity to work with Russian River Valley Pinot Noir grown by the Martinelli family at Windsor Gardens. Introducing "Beaufus" a collaboration of Martinelli fruit vinified by two "gentlemen" serious about Pinot Noir. A rare opportunity to indulge in one of nature's fines elixirs.Greg Smith is the brother of Paul Smith of the Woodland Hills Wine Co. All 60 cases of this wine were sold through the WHWCo. Merry Edwards is using Windsor Gardens fruit and I can't think of anyone else who is. "Beaufus" is a hillbilly-ization of "both of us" if you were curious about the name.

NAPA ROSE
For centuries, the Rose was planted at the beginning of a trellised row of grapevines.
The Rose not only added beauty to the vineyard, it also attracted bees for pollination
and a bountiful harvest. Additionally, the Rose warned the vintner of unfavorable conditions.
We honor the Rose for its many contributions as we bring to you the bounty
of California and the Wine Country Cuisine.
